Not to answer Stephen's question about libraries, but I thought some of you may be interested to know Gloria Books is open in Hanoi -- so named in honor of Gloria Emerson.

The first venue is at

Rider Cafe

18B Nguyen Bieu

Ba Dinh, Ha Noi

(near Phan Dinh Phung & Cua Bac Church)

Gloria Books carry new books, an eclectic selection that includes David Sedaris, Dan Brown, Alexander McCall Smith, Mark Haddon, Nick Hornby, Simon Winchester, Anne LaMott, and others. Also a selection of special childrens' books.

Gloria Books will have a more permanent home at the Ha Noi Press Club in February.

Rider Café features classic motor bikes and contemporary books.

The next issue of War, Literature, and The Arts (published at the U.S. Air Force Academy for anyone who might not know it) will carry remembrances of Gloria Emerson by Wayne Karlin, W.D. Ehrhart, and myself.
