When I talked with Friendship organisers in Hanoi in 1967, they proudly remarked on maintaining connections with both Moscow and Beijing, despite these two condemning each other at the time.

Cher Pierre,
the DRV and NLF delegates certainly attended the Beijing meeting, and their leaders (like Nguyen Huu Tho) sent their official greetings:

I might be able to find out something about the other conference, too, but it will take more time.

Treasured Comrades-Without-Whom-I-Would-Be-Lost:
Can anyone confirm the DRVN's and/or the NLF's participation in the 1966 Afro-Asian Writers' Emergency Meeting in Beijing and the 1967 Third Afro-Asian Writers’ Conference in Beirut?
Beijing organized the former as a protest against the latter, sponsored by the Soviet Union. I'm assuming the DRVN either skipped both or attended both -- to avoid complicating its relations with the Soviets and the Chinese -- but can't seem to find evidence of that anywhere. And if you happen to have a written source about this, you will have my eternal love and gratitude.
Sincere thanks in advance.
Pierre
