Correlation to State Content Standards
7.4: Students analyze the geographic, political, and economic, religious, and social structures of the sub-Saharan civilizations of Ghana and Mali in Medieval Africa.
7.4.1: Study the Niger River and the relationship of vegetation zones of forest, savannah, and desert to trade in gold, salt, food, and slaves; and the growth of the Ghana and Mali empires.
7.4.2: Analyze the importance of family, labor specialization, and regional commerce in the development of states and cities in West Africa.

SDAIE: Model: Test Procedure: Teacher will go over the test taking procedure.
Guided Practice (x min.)
SDAIE: Progress Monitor: West Africa Test: Teacher will pace the room and monitor students to make sure they aren't looking up the answers. Teacher will also check the progress of the students on the live dashboard on Edulastic.
Independent Practice (35 min.)
SDAIE: Metacognition: West Africa Test: Students will take the West Africa test that will assess them on the social, political, economical, and geography of West Africa. Once students are done with the test they will work on missing assignments since they are due tomorrow, December 16, 2021.
