Anticipatory Set (10 min.)
SDAIE: EQ/TPS: Starter: Students will write down their objective in their agenda.
SDAIE: TPS: Job Listing: Students will read and analyze a job posting by a chinese empire and answer three questions dealing with who is the emperor looking for, who is left out and can a similar job ad be listed in today's world. This will lead to today's assignment in which we discuss how the government ran during the imperial China.
Direct Instruction (5 min.)
SDAIE: Model: China's Imperial Dynasties: Teacher will direct students to the Graphic organizer that has the Cornell Notes, to open their books to page 268, and explain the directions for the assignmet.
Guided Practice (10 min.)
SDAIE: Direct Teach/TPS: China's Imperial Dynasties: Teacher will progress monitor students as they complete their independent assignment. Students can ask for help or clarification. Teacher will then go on to clarify and discuss how Imperial China ran its government with the use of the mandate of heaven. Teacher will use visuals to aid in the presentation.
Independent Practice (20 min.)
SDAIE: Graphic Organizer/Talk to text/Text to Speech/TPS: China's Imperial Dynasties: Students will use their graphic organizer and their textbook page 268 to complete their Cornell Notes. Within their Cornell Notes, the teacher has provided the students hints (Talk to the text) to guide their thinking process. Students who chose can use headphones to have the selection read to them. After 12 minutes students will discuss their findings with their group members.
Homework.

Closure (3 min.)
1. Clean up.

Lesson Modifications for GATE, RSP, and EL Students
EL: Projector (visuals), questioning, chunking, cognitive words, repetition, translation in Spanish.
RSP: Projector (visuals), questioning, modified assignments, check for understandings.
GATE: Require answers that will demonstrate depth and complexity of fertilization.

Starter Quiz: Students will take their starter quiz based on last weeks starters.
Direct Instruction (10 min.)
SDAIE: Direct Teach/Mandate of Heaven: Teacher will lecture on the Mandate of Heaven and explain how Imperial China used that to create their Dynasty and govern China for close to two thousand years.
Guided Practice (10 min.)
SDAIE: TPS: GeoChallenge: Imperial China Map Skills: Teacher will go over the correct labeling of the map. Studens will have time in between the four questions to make their adjustments.
Independent Practice (25 min.)
SDAIE: Realia/Metacognition: Moreno's Dynasty Reflection: Students will reflect on the quick test they took yesterday to determine their future salary worth. Students will do this my answering three reflection questions.
SDAIE: TPS/Visuals: Imperial China Vocabulary: Students will be given five tier 2 and 3 vocabulary words. They will work with their groups to decipher their meaning. After 6 minutes, they will use the visual aids that are provided by the teacher to determine the meaning of the words along with help from their group members.
Homework.
