Anticipatory Set (3 min):
Daily Starter: Students will read a short chunked section of ¨This Day in History¨ and be able to identify the 5 W´s.
Direct Instruction (5 min.)
SDAIE: Model: Test Taking Procedures: Teacher will go over the test taking procedures. Explain how to access their test through Edulastic and go over the tasks once they finish the test.
Guided Practice (x min.)
SDAIE: Progress Monitor: Aztec Test: Teacher will walk monitor the class as the students work on their test.
Independent Practice (35 min.)
SDAIE: metacognition: Aztec Test: Students will take a test to assess them on the origins, rise, and achievements of the Aztec civilization. Once students are done they are to work on their missing assignments.

Lesson Modifications for GATE, RSP, and EL Students
EL: Projector (visuals), questioning, chunking, cognitive words, repetition, translation in Spanish.
RSP: Projector (visuals), questioning, modified assignments, check for understandings.
GATE: Require answers that will demonstrate depth and complexity of fertilization.
