Expected Student Outcomes (Objective)

Students will be able to:

1. Understand and Explain the rise of the Gupta Empire. (7^th Grade)

2. Understand and Explain the events that took place during Jefferson’s Presidency. (8^th Grade).

Anticipatory Set (10 min.) Daily Journals: Students will read two excerpts from "This Day in History" and answer the daily essential question using the information in the short passage.

Direct Instruction (20 min.)

7^th Grade-SDAIE: Model/Direct Teach: Gupta Empire Review: Teacher go over the directions and what past assignments students should use to answer the test review questios.

8^th Grade-SDAIE: Model: Jefferson’s Presidency Review: Teacher will go over the assignment and directions. Teacher will go over the first problem with the students. Will also explain what assignments students can go back and review to answer the series of 9 riddled type question as Jefferson recounts his presidency.

Guided Practice (15 min.)

7^th Grade-SDAIE: TPS: Gupta Empire Review: Teacher and students will go over the answers to the test review assignment.

8^th Grade-SDAIE: TPS: Jefferson’s Presidency Review: Teacher will go over the answers with the students.

Independent Practice (30 min.)

7^th Grade-SDAIE: Metacognition: Gupta Empire Review: Students will answer a series of questions dealing with the Gupta Empire in preparation of the their test for the next class session.

8^th Grade-SDAIE: Metacognition: Jefferson’s Presidency: Students will complete a series of riddled type questions as Jefferson recounts his presidency. Students will have to figure out what event is being described.

Homework.
