7.5.6: Analyze the rise of a military society in the late twelfth century and the role of the samurai in that society.
Expected Student Outcomes (Objective)
Students will be able to:
1. Identify and explain key elements of the samurai suit and weaponry.
2. Identify and explain Bushido the samurai way of life.

Anticipatory Set (3 min.)
Daily Journals: Students will find two evidences to support the CLAIM from today's starter about George Washington Carver.
Direct Instruction (10 min.)
SDAIE: Direct Teach: End of the Samurai: Teacher will lecture about the end of the samurai and the impact bushido had on Japanese society.
Guided Practice (10 min.)
SDAIE: TPS: Review answers: Teacher will go over the answers to the last two boxes of the assignment. Teacher will demonstrate how they had.
Independent Practice (20 min.)
SDAIE: Infographic: Samurai Suit and Weapons: Students will complete an infographic that will have the students identify and explain the suit of the samurai along with its weapons. They will provide information of the material and how it benefits the samurai. They will read pages 349-350 in the textbook for the information. The readings will be posted on the Google Stream along with the assignment.
SDAIE: Concept Web: Bushido: Students will read pages 355-356 section of Bushido in the text book. Using their graphic organizer they will fill up the concept web with the word Bushido in the middle to write down 10 facts of what is Bushido and how the samurai's used this code of conduct to guide their life.
SDAIE: CER: QuickWrite: Students will be given a prompt about Bushido and will complete a QuickWrite using Claim, Evidence, and Reason to answer the question.
Homework.
