Expected Student Outcomes (Objective)
Today I am learning about classroom expectations, procedures, and KAMI by:
Identifying and Understanding the SBCUSD Social Skills.
Understanding how to use KAMI functions to complete assignments.
Creating a signature on their email account.
Common Core Literacy Standard
WHST 9: Draw evidence from information texts to support analysis reflection, and research.
Anticipatory Set (5 min.)
SDAIE: Direct Teach: Teacher will guide students to the Chrome Web Store, find KAMI, and install the extension in their Chromebook. Students will follow along with the teacher through the projector or Panel.
Direct Instruction (10 min.)
SDAIE: Model/Direct Teach: Email: Teacher will instruct students on how to create a signature on their email and how to properly send an email. Students will send an email to Mr. Moreno.
Guided Practice (10 min.)
SDAIE: Direct Teach: Setting up KAMI: Teacher will take students on a quick tour of the school campus. Teacher will demonstrate the evacuation zone, point out the restrooms in the F wing, MU Room, Library, Office, and Counselors Room.
Independent Practice (20 min.)
SDAIE: Video Clips/VIP's/QuickWrite/echo read: Social Skills in Practice: Students will be shown a list of the SBCUSD social skills. Teacher will utilize echo to have students repeat the social skill listed on the board. Students will then watch a video clip from "Stand and Deliver" where students will identify 3 social skills that are not being practiced correctly. Students will then complete a short QuickWrite.
SDAIE: TPS: Kami Tutorial/email: Students will complete a worksheet that will show them the functions of kami. Students will be use the texting, highlighting, and inserting pictures function. Just the basic for now. Students will also submit an email to the teacher.

Lesson Modifications for GATE, RSP, and EL Students
EL: Projector (visuals), questioning, chunking, cognitive words, repetition, translation in Spanish.
RSP: Projector (visuals), questioning, modified assignments, check for understandings.
GATE: Require answers that will demonstrate depth and complexity of fertilization.
