Anticipatory Set (3 min.)
SDAIE: Discuss: What are lines of latitude and longitude used for? (7th Grade)
Students will prepared their answer document for the State Test? (8th Grade)
Direct Instruction (10 min.)
SDAIE: Discuss: Test Procedures: Teacher will go over the directions and procedures of the test. Teacher will answer any questions dealing with the test directions. (8th Grade)
SDAIE: KWL: Bermuda Triangle: Teacher will ask the students to brainstorm everything they know about the Bermuda Triangle in their group. After 3 minutes teacher will ask for thier information and comment on the validity of that information. Students usually say things disappear and ask them how do you know that? (7th Grade)
Guided Practice (10 min.)
SDAIE: Monitor: Teacher will walk around the class monitoring the students. (8th Grade)
SDAIE: TPS: Bermuda Triangle: Teacher will review the answers to the questions on the worksheet after students watch the video clip. Teacher will review mapping location by use of latitude and longitude.
Independent Practice (25 min.)
SDAIE: Metacognition: USA States: Students will work on correctly identifying 25 states. (8th Grade)
SDAIE: TPS/Bermuda Triangle/Geography Summary: Students will use lines of latitude and longitude to determine the validity of the Bermuda triangle plotting the disappearance of 5 ships/planes and coming up with a logical conclusion. (7th Grade)
Homework
7th grade: Finish any incomplete assignments and study for the test on Monday.
Closure (3 min.)
1. Clean up.

EL: Projector (visuals), questioning, chunking, cognitive words, repetition, translation in Spanish.
RSP: Projector (visuals), questioning, modified assignments, check for understandings.
GATE: Require answers that will demonstrate depth and complexity of fertilization.
