Daily Journal: Invention of Aspirin 5 W's
Direct Instruction (10 min.)
SDAIE: Close Reading: The Battle of the Milvian Bridge: Teacher will close read the selection dealing with the Battle of the Milvian Bridge. After the selection as been read by the teacher, students are to go back and re-read it to themselves.
Guided Practice (15 min.)
SDAIE: Annotate Talk to Text: The Battle of the Milvian Bridge: Teacher will use Talk to Text to guide students in annotating their text. As students annotate their text teacher will explain in further detail the impact of said event.
Independent Practice (25 min.)
SDAIE: Think Pair Share: Picture: Have students work with their partner (A and B’s). Have them look at the picture on page 50 and answer the two questions on box #3 in the graphic organizer. (#1: loving, caring, nurturing. #2 Wizard, magic healing powers, deceiving. Etc).
SDAIE: Close Paragraph: Students will work independently in filling in the blanks of the paragraph. After 10 minutes students will work with their partners to complete the assignment. After that, pass around and give them a stamp if they completed that section before you go over the answers.
SDAIE: CER: Constantine and Christianity: Students will write a CLAIM to the guiding question about the impact that Constantine had on Christianity. Then they will include 3 pieces of evidence that supports their CLAIM based on the reading. (Finish from yesterday)
