7.5 Students analyze the geographic, political, economic, religious, and social structures of the civilizations of Medieval Japan.
7.5.1: Describe the significance of Japan’s proximity to China and Korea and the intellectual, linguistic, religious, and philosophical influence of those countries on Japan.

Direct Instruction (10 min.)
7th Grade-SDAIE: Direct Teach/Annotate: Japan Music & Instruments: Teacher will read and clarify the impact and origins of Japanese music and new instruments that were introduced to medieval Japan.
Guided Practice (5 min.)
7th Grade-SDAIE: TPS: Close Paragraph: Teacher will go over the answers to the Close Paragraph.
Independent Practice (25 min.)
7th Grade-SDAIE: QuickWrite: Close Paragraph: Students will use the reading and the word bank to complete a summary of the passage they read to check for their understanding.
