Correlation to State Content Standards
7.2.2: Trace the origins of Islam and the life and teachings of Muhammad, including Islamic teachings on the connection with Judaism and Christianity.
Expected Student Outcomes (Objective)
Students will be able to:
1. Review the origins and teachings of Islam.
2. Complete missing Islam assignments.
Common Core Literacy Standard
RH 2: Determine the central ideas or information of a primary or secondary source; provide an accurate summary of the source distinct from prior knowledge or opinions.
RH 4: Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text, including vocabulary specific to domains related to history/social studies.
WHST 4: Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose and audience.
WHST 9. Draw evidence from informational texts to support analysis reflection, and research.
Anticipatory Set (5 min.) Welcome: Welcome students back from thier one week Fall break. Go over the agenda for the next three weeks of the unit.
Direct Instruction (5 min.)
SDAIE: Direct Teach: Padlet Game: Teacher will introduce the game and rules to the Padlet review game. Teacher will also explain the grading process for this project assignment and take any questions students may have.
Guided Practice (x min.)
SDAIE: Progress Monitor: Padlet Game: Teacher will progress monitor student progress as work on posting their answers on the Padlet Board.
Independent Practice (22 min.)
SDAIE: QuickWrite: Padlet Islam Review: Students will be given a series of 10 questions dealing with the origins and teachings of Islam. Students will be given 2 minutes per question to answer it. Student to first answer the question correct will be awarded a price.
Homework.(3 min)
EdPuzzle Intro to the Crusades due by Friday, December 2, 2022 at 5 p.m.
Closure ( min.)
1. Clean up.
