Direct Instruction (20 min.)
SDAIE: CLOZE READ: Classroom Rules: Teacher will go over classroom behavior, grading, tardy policy, and cell phone policy.
Guided Practice (10 min.)
SDAIE: Sentence Stems: Students will complete a sentence stem based on the classroom procedures. Students will practice entering and existing the classroom.
Independent Practice (20 min.)
SDAIE: Cornell Notes: Classroom Procedures and Expectations.: Student’s will role play certain classroom procedures and continue working on them until they perform and understand procedure at 95% effectiveness.
SDAIE: Think Pair Share: Social Skills: Students will be introduced to the Social Skills. They will watch a movie clip and determine 3 social skills that are not being followed within the classroom.

Lesson Modifications for GATE, RSP, and EL Students
EL: Projector (visuals), questioning, chunking, cognitive words, repetition, translation in Spanish.
RSP: Projector (visuals), questioning, modified assignments, check for understandings.
GATE: Require answers that will demonstrate depth and complexity of fertilization.
