7.3: Students analyze the geographic, political, economic, religious, and social structures of the civilization of the civilizations of China in the Middle Ages.
7.3.3: Analyze the influences of Confucianism and changes in Confucian thought during the Sung and Mongol periods
7.3.5: Trace the historic influence of such discoveries as tea, the manufacture of paper, woodblock printing, the compass and gunpowder.

Anticipatory Set (3 min.)
Daily Journals: Students will work on their starter as they read a passage and identify two pieces of evidence to support the given Claim provided.
Direct Instruction (10 min.)
SDAIE: Direct Teach: Inventions: Teacher will show students 10 pictures that deal with 10 of the inventions or discoveries that were made by China. Students will be asked to guess what the invention is and how it works. Will finish this from yesterday's assignment.
Guided Practice (10 min.)
SDAIE: TPS: Imperial China Review: Teacher will go over the answers to the nine questions dealing review questions and topics to get students ready for tomorrows test.
Independent Practice (20 min.)
SDAIE: TPS/Diads: Imperial China Review: Students will work with their partners to answer 9 review questions. Students will use their previous assignments to help them locate the answers that deal with China's geography, political, economic, religious and social structures.
Homework.
