Anticipatory Set (5 min.)
Journal: Students will answer the daily fact of the day by identifying the 5 W's.
Direct Instruction (10 min.)
SDAIE: Model: Proofreading Marks: Teacher will go over the proofreading marks used when editing. Students will be given a multi color pen to edit three student responses from yesterdays test.
Guided Practice (10 min.)
SDAIE: Model/TPS: CER: Teacher will go over the editing corrections students should have picked up on their own.
Independent Practice (30 min.)
SDAIE: CER: QW: Students will be given three responses written by students. Students will have to edit the responses and make the corrections to each response. Then using those responses, students will rewrite a correct response using the CER model with a multi color pen (Blue CLAIM, Green EVIDENCE, Red REASON).
