1. Understand and Explain the the social structure of the Mayan Civilization. (7th Grade). Finish from yesterday.
2. Explain the Mayan religious beliefs and practices.

Direct Instruction (10 min.)
SDAIE: Movie Clip: Tension Brewing : Teacher will show a video clip that explains how British is sending more troops to the colonies and Boston to keep them in line. We will discuss the problems that will lead too. (8th Grade)
SDAIE: Model: Religious beliefs and practices: Students will be given direction of the assignment. They will start with an Edpuzzle explaining the importance of corn. (7th Grade)
Guided Practice (10 min.)
SDAIE: Cloze Read/Annotate: Death By Taxes : Teacher will cloze read the Acts/taxes that Britain was placing on the colonist. Teacher will use Think aloud to guide students to understanding the passage as they highlight the evidence in the text. (8th Grade)
SDAIE: TPS: Mayan Family Life: Teacher will go over the answers to the Cornell Notes and elaborate more information. (7th Grade).
Independent Practice (25 min.)
SDAIE: Tps/: Map of America: Students will label their map to identify the political boundaries for the three countries the three countries that held claims to America. Students will also understand the importance of the Appalachian Mountains. Students will answer the daily Exit Question: What countries held claims to America. (8th Grade) Will finish from yesterday.
SDAIE: Annotate/Dialectical Journal: Students will annotate the passage after rereading it. After tat they will explain what the tax, how they protested, add spin control and show your support.
SDAIE: Edpuzzle/Cornell Notes/VBQ: Maya Family Life: Students will watch a video clip about the importance of corn in the Maya Civilization and answer question through Edpuzzle. Students will complete their family life Cornell Notes. Students will watch two class video question clips and answer the video based questions. (7th grade)
