Correlation to State Content Standards
7.6: Students analyze the geographic, political, economic, religious, and social structures of the civilizations of Medieval Europe.
7.6.6: Discuss the causes and course of the religious Crusades and their effects on the Christian, Muslim, and Jewish populations in Europe, with emphasis on the increasing contact by Europeans with cultures of the Eastern Mediterranean world.
7.6.3: Understand the development of feudalism, its role in the medieval European economy, the way in which its was influenced by physical geography, and how feudal relationships provided the foundation of political order.

Anticipatory Set (5 min.)
SDAIE: TPS/DOK 3/4/Chunk Reading: Daily Starter: Students will read a chunked passage from History Channels "This day in History" and answer the DOK 3 or 4 question of the day by annotating the answer in the passage and using their prior knowledge to answer the question.
Direct Instruction (5 min.)
SDAIE: Model/Direct Teach: Testing Procedures: Teacher will go ove the test taking procedures and directions to what to do after the test.
Guided Practice (x min.)
SDAIE: Progress Monitoring: Middle Ages Test: Teacher will pace the room observing students monitors to make sure they are on task and not searching for their answers.
Independent Practice (35 min.)
SDAIE: Metacognition: Middle Ages Test: Students will complete their test on the Middle Ages using edulastic.
SDAIE: Metacognition: Make up work: Students will work on any missing assignments of the Middle Ages before completing any of the assignments from other classes.
