Expected Student Outcomes (Objective)
Students will be able to:
Assessed on classroom expectations and procedures.
Identify and Locate the 7 continents.
Identify and Explain landforms and landscapes.
Common Core Literacy Standard
WHST 9: Draw evidence from information texts to support analysis reflection, and research.
WHST 4: Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose and audience.
Anticipatory Set (5 min.)
SDAIE: Model: Seating Chart: Teacher will verify the seating chart again since students are being moved around and/or dropped. While teacher is doing this students will take out a piece of paper and write their name and title of the assignment.
Direct Instruction (5 min.)
SDAIE: Model: Quiz Procedure: Teacher will model the test taking procedures to the students. Students will need to take out two pieces of paper per group and cut it in half and share in with another group member.
Guided Practice (5 min.)
SDAIE: TPS: Quiz: Teacher will go over the answers to the quiz about the procedures and expectations.
Independent Practice (15 min.)
SDAIE: Metacognition: Procedure Quiz: Student’s will be asked 4 questions dealing with Moreno's Classroom expectations and procedures. Quiz will be a multiple choice.
SDAIE: Quad/TPS: Intro to Geography: Students will work in their quads. They will be asked to identify the 7 continents of the world. Each member will be using a pen in which they will select either red, black, green, or blue to associated with that in the assignment. Students will take turns answering the question but communicating their answers as a team.

Lesson Modifications for GATE, RSP, and EL Students
EL: Projector (visuals), questioning, chunking, cognitive words, repetition, translation in Spanish.
RSP: Projector (visuals), questioning, modified assignments, check for understandings.
GATE: Require answers that will demonstrate depth and complexity of fertilization.
