Anticipatory Set (3 min.)
SDAIE: SENTENCE STEM: Students will complete a sentence stem reflecting on their first day of school.
Direct Instruction (20 min.)
SDAIE: C.Notes: Classroom Rules: Teacher will go over classroom behavior, grading, tardy policy, and cell phone policy.
Guided Practice (15 min.)
SDAIE: VIP's: Students will link classroom rules with the schools climate of being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe.
Independent Practice (10 min.)
SDAIE: QUADS: Invention Timeline: Students will be given 5 pictures of inventions. As a group they will have to place the inventions in order and provide an explanation for why they did that.

EL: Projector (visuals), questioning, chunking, cognitive words, repetition, translation in Spanish.
RSP: Projector (visuals), questioning, modified assignments, check for understandings.
GATE: Require answers that will demonstrate depth and complexity of fertilization.
