7.7.2: Study the roles of people in each society, including class structures, family life, war fare, religious beliefs and practices, and slavery.
7.7.5: Describe the Meso-American achievements in astronomy and mathematics, including the development of the calendar and the Meso-American knowledge of seasonal changes to the civilizations’ agricultural systems.

Anticipatory Set (3 min.)
Daily Starter: 5 W's: Students will read a short passage and identify the 5 W's.
Direct Instruction (10 min.)
Grade-SDAIE: Close Read/Annotate: Inca Engineering/Agriculture : Teacher will close read a short passage and use talk to text to guide students in annotating the important information from the reading. Teacher will provide further explanation after reading to help them make a connection to the information.
Guided Practice (10 min.)
Grade-SDAIE: TPS: Inca Achievements: Teacher will go over the answers to the questions dealing with the Inca Achievements.
Independent Practice (10 min.)
7th Grade-SDAIE: Essential Question/Video Clip/VBQ: Inca Achievements: Students will watch short clips dealing with the achievements of the Inca civilization; roads, agriculture, and medicine. Students will answer video based questions. The videos will go along with the short reading that they had done prior to watching the videos and provide more information.
Homework.
