7.7.2: Study the roles of people in each society, including class structures, family life, war fare, religious beliefs and practices, and slavery.
Common Core Literacy Standard
RH 2: Determine the central ideas or information of a primary or secondary source; provide an accurate summary of the source distinct from prior knowledge or opinions.
RH 4: Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text, including vocabulary specific to domains related to history/social studies.
RH 7: Integrate visual information (e.g., in charts, graphs, photographs, videos, or maps) with other information in print and digital texts.
RH9: Analyze the relationship between a primary and secondary source on the same topic.
WHST 4: Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose and audience.

Expected Student Outcomes (Objective)
Students will be able to:
1. Understand the Incas family life and responsibilities.
2. Understand the Incas religious beliefs and practices.
Anticipatory Set (5 min.)
Starter: Evidence: Students will read a chunked section of "This day in History" and provide at least one evidence from the reading to support the Claim that is provided for them.
Direct Instruction (5 min.)
SDAIE: Model: Inca Family and Religion : Teacher will provide instruction to the class. Students will have the whole period to to read or have the digital book read to them and answer questions based on the Incas family life and religion. (SUB Day)
Guided Practice (x min.)
SDAIE: Progress Monitoring: Inca Family Life and Religion: Teacher will progress monitor to ensure students are working on their assignment.
Independent Practice (35 min.)
SDAIE: Metacognition/Text to Speech: Inca Family and Religion: Students will have to answer questions dealing with Family Life and Religion. The topics covered will be childhood, marriage, religion and chosen women. Students can use their text books pages 414-417 or use the digital book Lesson 29 section 3 and 4 to have it read to them.
Student are to complete their Edpuzzle if they get done or any other missing assignment they have.
Homework.
