Expected Student Outcomes (Objective)
Students will be able to:

Identify three historical images from 6th grade and give their historical importance.
Common Core Literacy Standard
WHST 9: Draw evidence from information texts to support analysis reflection, and research.
Anticipatory Set (5 min.)
SDAIE: Direct Teach: Seats: Teacher will remind students were they sit and complete a seating chart.
Direct Instruction (10 min.)
SDAIE: Direct Teach/VIP: What do you Remember: Teacher will quickly provide a quick lecture on three images that students should be able to identify. The images are: a map of the Tigris River and Euphrates River, a cuneiform tablet, and a statue of Poseidon. Teacher will lecture and provide 4 Very Important Points (VIP) that students will take down.
Guided Practice (10 min.)
SDAIE: Think Pair Share: Technology 101: Teacher will introduce the different software that the class will be utilizing this year. Those programs will be Google Classroom, KAMI, Edpuzzle, and SB LINK. Teacher provided a quick demonstration of each program.
Independent Practice (20 min.)
SDAIE: Metacognition/Think Pair Share/Visuals: What Do I Remember: Student’s will write down a note(s) from what they remembered in 6th grade History as they analyze the images that they are given by the teacher. Students will then be given time to talk it over as a group and write down any other information they may get from their group members.
SDAIE: Cloze Sentence: Technology 101: Students will will answer a questionnaire containing six questions that makes students analyze their computer skills. Teacher will ask students "How do you turn off your computer" and then demonstrate the proper way since many students turn off the computer by pressing down the power button or simply by closing the Chromebook.
SDAIE: QuickWrite/Exit Question: Students will write down one question or comment they may have about their History Class this year.

Lesson Modifications for GATE, RSP, and EL Students
EL: Projector (visuals), questioning, chunking, cognitive words, repetition, translation in Spanish.
RSP: Projector (visuals), questioning, modified assignments, check for understandings.
GATE: Require answers that will demonstrate depth and complexity of fertilization.
