They Say It Is A Civil War

They Say it is a Civil War

By Tarif Youssef Agha, April 15, 2016

They say it is a civil war burning us,

I say: No, as those we fight are not our people

Don’t waste your time trying to find their roots,

As those who ally with the Persians are not from us

They allied with all who hated us,

They brought to us all our enemies

They are a gang which took over the country,

All what they cared about was to rob us

All what they cared about was to enslave us,

And to kill us if we protested

That is not how people treat their people,

Only the enemy would do what they did

The real sons of a nation would not demolish their Homeland,

They always treated us as they were an occupation force

They forgot that if we, the Syrians, want,

We can move even the mountains

If they would read History, they would find that,

No matter how high the tyrants fly; they one day, will fall down

Then they said that it was a war on terrorism,

There is no terrorist beside he who used the Poison Gas

They also said that they were the regime of resistance,

They must have meant resisting the return of the Golan (Heights)

If I was asked to describe them with one word,

I would say that they have been always, and will always be “snakes”

No, it’s not a civil war, neither a war on terrorism,

It is a Revolution of the oppressed against the oppressors

It has always been so, and it will always be until the last day,

It will always be the Revolution of Freedom and Dignity against the dictators
