Oh Syria, why are the Arabs weeping?

Oh Syria, why are the Arabs weeping?

By Tarif Youssef Agha

Oh Syria, why are the Arabs weeping?

The wondering will be gone as soon as the reason is known

The enemies have separated our Arab Nation into regions and countries,

Put wedges among them and caused catastrophe to their people

The enemies assigned butchers and called them governors to rule us

Butchers who devastated their people and robbed them

The enemies planted Israel in our heart as a dagger

Then invited thugs into it from allover the world

Oh Syria, they also planted a ghoulish regime in you

A regime that invited into you all kinds of creepy people

So you became, as Palestine, a land of catastrophe

And your people are treated, like its people, as if they don’t exist

Some of them were thrown away all over the world

The rest were housed in tents in the deserts

The nightmare of our people was prolonged

The brutality of their disaster made them tired

Oh Syria, I have a big blame against you

But as you know, blame comes from love

When are you going to burn those who burned us, who burned you?

When will we see these monsters gone?

The monsters who demolished (the city of) Hama in the past

And donated the (Syrian) Golan Heights to Israel

Wipe them out and don’t be fooled by their Arabic names

As they, Oh Syria, do not have Arab hearts to pump their blood
