They Said That Palmyra Returned
By Tarif Youssef Agha
They said that (ancient city of) Palmyra returned to the lab of the Homeland,
I said that Palmyra returned from a butcher to another butcher
They (the Assad regime) handed the city a few months ago and took it back,
It is a fact that doesn’t need a proof, just like the sun’s light
They handed it then took it back, in order to claim they liberated it,
In order to claim that they took it by armed forces
They celebrated and called the event ‘a historic victory’,
While it was just a stage-play which only a stupid person would believe
We don’t believe these kinds of stories any more,
Their shameful history will always be the reminder of their brutality
If they really cared about liberating, they wouldn’t leave the Golan occupied,
And suffering from wounds for half a century
But, anyway, pigs are known for their stinking,
And dogs are known for their woofing
The regime and ISIS are two sides of the same coin,
They are partners in the night and enemies during the morning
One accuses us of being terrorists; the other accuses us of being infidels,
Therefore, they both drink our blood with cups
That regime is the biggest liar ever,
And it swore to evacuate the country from happiness
It swore not to leave any building intact,
And to bring lamenting to every house
If this regime asks for a recommendation letter,
Satan will be the first to give it one
Have you heard that goodness can come from evil?
Have you heard that darkness can glow as a lamp?
We swear to the regime and its partner, ISIS, that,
We will make their memories gone with the wind

Without a fight, the Assad regime handed the ancient city of Palmyra to ISIS a few months ago. Also without a fight, it took it back a few days ago and looked like the fighter of terrorism. The question is how could tens of thousands of ISIS fighters manage to flee in the desert without being bombed by the Assad or Russian airplanes? Are they are partners?
