The Soul Returns to Antar

Obama stayed still and let the Assad regime run away with its massacres against the Syrian people, especially the chemical weapon massacre in 2013, which he earlier classified as a red line. But when minorities in Iraq were recently threatened by ISIS, he took action and attacked.

The Soul Returns to Antar

By Tarif Youssef gha

After we thought he passed away

The soul returns to Antar (a legendary Arab hero from the 6th. century)

And his sword returns to be as sharp as it used to be

After his tongue hammered us with non-sense chatter

After he pounded us with red lines

And hit us with brags

Was he lying to us or to himself?

Truthfulness wouldn’t know him, even if it tripped over him

He built us palaces, from illusions

And built over them arcs, from hypocrisy

Then, he demolished and flattened them to the ground

Exactly as what Israel did to the (Syrian) city of Qunaitera

The blood of the minorities makes Anter take action

But he doesn’t care if the majority is eliminated

When he became angry and sent his fleets to us

We said “he, finally, will do something fruitful”

But, then, we discovered that what he started as a neigh ended as a croak

And his roar ended as a meow

Jokes, therefore, rained on him from everywhere

He made himself a material of mockery

He performed the policy of ‘double standard’ in its best

He sold the majorities to death, but saved the minorities

Damned the time in which we witness Anter

Put his sword for rent and became a broker
