Oh Madaya

Oh Madaya

By Tarif Youssef Agha

Oh Madaya, the conscious of the world has passed away,

And the decision to starve you was agreed upon by the whole world

So don’t ask for help, all the ears around you are closed,

And don’t cry as you won’t hear anything but your echo

Don’t be fooled by humanity as it becomes an empty word when

Starvation is used as a weapon to kill

And keep in mind that mercy doesn’t exist anymore,

So don’t believe any one who chants with it

Be aware that justice becomes a joke when

The victim is punished and the aggressor is rewarded

And about those skeleton looking people of yours whom we see,

They will become the shame of mankind forever

***

Sorry Madaya, but this is the time where

Countries are sold in the slave bazaar

The stones, the trees and the human beings are for sale,

The deals are cut between the merchants and the politicians

Deals that don’t care about human lives,

And it doesn’t matter if the people suffer or are forced to flee

You will see everyone shedding crocodile tears,

And claiming that they are the guards of justice

Oh Madaya, don’t believe any one of them,

As everyone talked, then stepped on his words

Only the Syrians will liberate you,

Then we will celebrate in both; the mosques and churches

The gangsters of Assad and the Shiite militia of the Lebanese-Iranian Party of God put the Syrian town of Madaya under siege for many months, which killed a lot of its 40 thousand residents by starvation.
