The Fruits of Freedom

The Fruits of Freedom

By Tarif Youssef Agha

All the nations of the world are crying over us, bitterly

If their tears end in the seas, the seas will be flooded

Even the hearts of the unfaithful are broken for us

Our misfortunes are so horrifying they make kids grow white hair

For the last four decades

Syria has suffered all kinds of torture

For the last four decades, Syria was dying every day

It has been announced as ‘dead’ every day

But it woke up then relapsed, woke up then relapsed

And every time we think ‘it will be fine’

But every time we thought it would be fine

We find out that the (Assad) gang is shedding more of our blood

Every time we thought that this gang became civilized

We found that it became more ghoulish

Its brutality exceeded the law of the jungle

Its savagery exceeded even that of the Mongols

But Israel is the origin of our calamity

Had it not been for Israel, the (Assad) gang would not exist to give away the Golan

The (Assad) gang made the security and safety of Israel as its goal

And that is why it was favored by the East and the West

It then invited Iran to the game for an unrevealed reason

It, then, sold the homeland to Iran and obeyed its orders

If our revolution falls

Then we will see Iran dominating, from the Gulf to the Ocean

And Russia which we used to call ‘our friend’

Its crimes harmonized with those of our (Assad) gang

The snakes were invited to Syria from all directions

And so the hyenas called on each other to meet there

That is why our revolution was a must

Even if we were hit by all the earthquakes of the world

Our revolution is not one of the Arab Spring’s

The Arab Spring aged, but our revolution is still young

Our revolution is not one of today or yesterday

But it is the one of a nation that has history in inventing the alphabet of the dignity

It is the revolution of a nation that was betrayed by its ruling gang

Of a nation whose sons were led to their slaughter by its rulers

But, oh villains, be aware that this is Syria we are talking about

It was never soft on oppressors and invaders in its history

We ruled half of the globe

And the whole world feared us

No one today can tell us what to do

As all the lies have been revealed and all the faces unveiled

No country can dictate who should represent us

It doesn’t matter who agrees and who does not

I see that the fruits of freedom have ripened

So the time to harvest has arrived

The time to harvest the molded heads has also arrived

To also harvest the heads of those who were the enemies of the revolution
