The Memorial of Mayssaloon returns
In July 24, 1920, the French army advanced to occupy the Syrian capital Damascus, but the then defense minister Youssef Al-Azmah, refused to let them do it without a fight, and here came the timeless battle of Mayssaloon.
The Memorial of Mayssaloon returns
The 94th Memorial of the Epic
By Tarif Youssef Agha
The Memorial of Mayssaloon returns all over again
It returns to knock at our doors
After we kicked the French and celebrated
The military (tyrants) moved in by herds and flocks
They ruled us in a way much worse than that of the occupier
Even we thought that they were our beloved people
They donated the Golan (Heights) to Israel to steal its water
So they gained the blessing and the acceptance of the West
They exchanged the country resources for arms with the Russians
With the Russian arms, they made the people suffer
When the people started the revolution, they (the tyrants) showed their toughness
They showed that they were masters in killing
They committed massacres and forced the civilians to immigrate
They turned the homeland into ruins
And they invited the Iranians to occupy us and protect them
Dogs are those who ask for the support of an occupier
They also imported those butchers who called themselves Mujahedeen
Those who grew their beards and covered their faces with masks
They claimed they intended to recreate the Caliph State
They are in fact just a gang
No, Syria will not be what all those are planning to it to be
All those who will knock at our door, will get our response
No matter how much brutality the oppressors, the invaders and their agents do
They won’t overcome those who became Freedom seekers
We will turn every spot of Syria into Mayssaloon for them
We won’t leave butchers, occupiers or traitors
As we overcame France, we will overcome its agents
Only the will of the people is capable of freeing them
Our army will return to be that of Youssef Al-Azmah
And our people will always carry out heroic epics
