A Revolution the entire World is Fighting

Russia, the main supporter of the Syrian Dictator, invited all the parties to meet in Moscow to have a new round of negotiation, with pre-accepting that Assad could stay in power for a transitional period of time. Some of the opposition parties accepted to go.

A Revolution the entire World is Fighting

By Tarif Youssef-Agha

Oh (Syrian) Revolution, the entire world is fighting you, All; big and little

Planting mines in your way, day and night

The entire world is working to bury you

Some are doing it secretly, others are doing it openly

Oh Syrian Revolution, don’t surrender, don’t give up

Don’t stop now after the blood poured like rivers

The defeated only gains pity

Only the triumphant gains respect

Half-Revolutions are always lost in the darkness of memory

Only those which complete the job draw the destiny

Don’t trust a regime which every one knows by now

Every one knows it is a back-stabber

Always a lion on us, but just an ostrich in wars

It never fought a war without running away from the battle field

If we accuse it of being low, we wouldn’t be unfair

And if we call it a traitor, we wouldn’t reveal a secret

Everyone who thinks this regime will leave through negotiation is ‘imagining’

Anyone who goes to negotiate with it needs a saw (to cut it and trash it)

And pulling it from its roots has no alternative

Such regimes don’t leave except by force

They don’t leave their palaces except to their graves

And doing that needs brave and free people

If the oppressors are serpents, then the revolutions are volcanoes

Only when the volcanoes erupt, do the serpents run away
