Oh Syria, be patient

Oh Syria, be patient

By Tarif Youssef Agha

Oh Syria, be patient

As the dawn is close

Don’t give up, may God

Lead you to victory

Don’t blame any

As a coward is not worth blame

The coward deserves nothing

But to be kept out the door

Don’t cry, as tears

Never helped a crier

And don’t mourn; no one comes

To help mourners any more

Don’t look east

And don’t look west

He who caused your grieve

Will not stop it

Also be careful

Not to ask the Arabs anything

Does anyone try those

Who carry scabies?

Don’t expect from them

Moutasem (a historic Arab hero), or anger

And don’t look

As they lost their honor long time ago

Everyone is enjoying drinking

From your blood

Everyone looks like

Enjoying your sorrow

If the Security Counsel has

Corrupted the world

Then it is the Arab league

That was the most helpless

Are you (Syria) really going to listen

To those who did nothing but condemning?

Or are you still faithful

To those who lied and cheated?

Your blood is dropping

From their elbows

They built towers and domes

From your sons’ heads

Don’t expect help but from God

As all others fled

Don’t ask for help but from God

As all others lied

Your people, by the help of God

Will be the ones who won

And Assad, by the help of God

Will be the one who left
