The Russians Have Left Syria

The Russians have left Syria

By Tarif Youssef Agha

The Russians have left Syria, claiming victory,

Leaving behind them the dog’s tail (Assad) wondering

I don’t see a victory, but I see a flee,

They found out that they were facing an undefeatable Nation

They kept shelling it day and night, but it kept fighting,

It kept standing tall and kept its Revolution storming like a hurricane

What more could they do to a Nation which every time they burn,

It comes from the aches, stronger and more insistent

What more could they do to a Nation which wouldn’t swallow disgrace,

A Nation that swore to break its chains and bring down its fences

The Russians have left today, and the Iranians had done it before,

All of them have left drinking from the cups of shame

The folk’s proverb says “the cat doesn’t run away from a wedding”,

So, the occupation forces don’t leave a country voluntarily

It also says “the dog’s tail is created crooked,

It is fruitless to make it straight even if you put it in hundred molds”

We tolerated him (Assad) and his father for forty years, they couldn’t tolerate him

Even for six months, and they still don’t understand why we don’t want him

Even his closest ally (Russia) ran away from him,

Even his closest ally kicked him with the boot

The Russians failed to bring the Revolution to its knees,

As many others failed many times before

They have left, and we still don’t know exactly why,

But we promise them that we will celebrate with sweets and poetry

And we also promise them that we will keep our fingers on the triggers,

So in case they return, they will find nothing here but iron and fire

Yes the injustice may rule for while, but the justice will finally prevail,

And when it happens, the oppressed will defeat the oppressor

As he interfered without a notice, the Mafia-style Russian regime leader, Putin, ordered most of his forces out of Syria, after committing a lot of war crimes against civilians.
