Anniversary Day brought out the DF 65 sailors. Visitors from Waihi, Papamoa, Rotorua and Matata swelled the numbers to 20 on the start line.

Graham NZL104 and others did a great job of setting up with twin Gazebos, & starter gear.

Nigel 168 was placed in the dinghy and dispatched to retrieve our buoys. The high lake level lifted the weights from the bottom and they floated off down the lake toward the bridge. He came back a bit red in the face from all the exercise.

Nigel set up course on the board.

Racing started right at 1:00pm and what a pleasant sight 20 boats battling it out for the lead.

A few races in,

RO Graham made a course change to make better use of the wind which was easterly again with strong gusts and big holes.

Winning a race was a struggle, but many skippers had wins.

The rain stayed away and it was a nice warm afternoon to be ot racing DF65's.

Thanks to all those who helped in the setup and particularly those who stayed after racing to pack up and store the gear.

Another great day at the lake.
