Nigel 186 and Pete 179 made a spur of the moment decision that because today was a lot better than yesterday, and the wind was up, that we should shoot down to Matata Lagoon for some enjoyment with the Matataians.

We were right, there was enjoyment and fun to be had. We arrived on time to find the breeze was up with solid gusts coming through the gap from the South. It was sunny and sort of warm.

Pete 448 had a course on the board in the shape of the well known triangle, windward, leeward. Racing started and it was obvious that boat handling would play a big part in the racing. We were overpowered in the gusts and that gave rise to spinouts, nose dives etc followed by a lot of speed. Our little boats put on a fantastic display.

Rescue 1 had a long hard tow to save "no number" who had broken its jib attachment. It was a difficult tow as the hook point was the mainsail Tack so the boat was towed sideways. Well done Rescue 1.

Multiple winners today. Thanks for the day Matata.
