How would I sum up Day Two.

Easy Send it Hard....

Slept like a baby with the sound of the river running over the rocks here. Need to record it and take it home..

I woke to the birds at sunrise. Quick shower and it was down to the lake to put together a couple of IOM's.

Things went well the boats all fitted together with no major drama's. The wind at the lake was hailling and it was looking like C might be the rig of choice. By 9am the wind lighted out to Top of A. But 10am a solid B rigs.

A quick breifing with a miss a race RO system which worked well, two lap races and 10am and we were off.

Everyone started well pointing there boats on Starboard tack off the start line and it was pretty clean starts all day.

A shifty windward beat and then the down wind. Everyone at some point had to send it every downwind.

Your would round the top mark in 5 knots. Then 30 seconds later or so it would build. Then as you passed the fountain half way down the leg you would get smashed with a full on gust or two. Light to Very Top end of B. Those that survived could make some serious ground up.

The result don't show the full picture of today. Normally seven or so boats approached the finish together and the last shift determined the placings. The boys from the DF65 crew who have purchase IOM set the pace at the front of the fleet. They just need to get use to the parking on the starts, longer keels around marks, and longer rigs when ducking, it takes a little time to get use to a slightly bigger boat, everything else is the same :) Well sailed everyone !!! Great day !

So another night back here at Camp Kiwi since I slept so well last night.

Tomorrows report maybe a delayed as I drive back up the country tomorrow night and get as far as practical

and hope to make it back in time for Tauranga Monday 1pm DF65 sailing at the Bus Stop.... (weather permitting)

Day One provisional results (these may change tomorrow as RO gets average points so some points may change tomorrow)
