Better breeze at The Bus Stop and The Jetty.
Seven boats made up a tight little fleet that gave us excellent sailing in the stiff breeze we had at The Bus Stop today.
Clive 998 set a course that took us round a rectangle with 4 and 5 as the top marks. That proved to be a bit easy upwind so we moved to top marks 5 and 6 and settled into some good beats into a solid breeze. 4 is normally our tricky mark, so there was some relief when we chopped it out.
We raced that course for a while then decided mutually to move to a gate top and bottom with 5 and 6 on an inside out top gate. That proved very popular except that 6 developed 4's nasty habits.
It was a pleasant change having a solid breeze to fire up our little yachts.
RTW's were all unidirectional today, Rob 501 taking out two races and Graeme 230 winning the other.
Meantime, down at The Jetty the A+Rigs mustered eight boats for some good racing on the Champs course area. A number learnt some of the quirks of the lake with the NW wind direction. Again, good racing for the group and we can do it all again on Thursday.
A few photos today.
