A real Autumn day at The Bus Stop

An Autumn day met us today with the colours of the reserve trees looking wonderful. A very light NW breeze stuck around all afternoon for us so we could enjoy some slow motion sailing. Some of us find these days testing and sometimes go home early for a lie down, but some of us enjoy the challenge of light weather sailing. The techniques change somewhat and much more detailed thinking goes into a race. However, it is still a race and can give a lot of satisfaction. That is what we had today, and I found it very enjoyable sitting in the warm sun with a good group of mainly old guys.

Today we welcomed Mike 357 and his Dad, John. We know you will really enjoy DF65 fun racing with us. Anything you want to know, just ask one of the other skippers present. Watch out, they sometimes tell porkies.  Mike is a sailor, so it won't be long before he is up to speed. He had a good workout today in the light. John chartered 179 and had some enjoyment learning how easy it is to sail a boat from the shore. They both had a good day on the water.

Various winners today in the light conditions. Some big wins and others very tight.

Three RTW's, John 201 sailed a very controlled RTW to win the first race. Nigel 168 made no race of the second while Pat 239 and Nigel 168 had a real battle with Pat taking the win in the final race. Well done guys.

Enjoy the pictures
