Aussie Road Trip
DAY ONE
As usual starting with a waking to a 2 45am alarm. Shuttle was on time at 3.30am. Just missed the motorway jam up by seconds so made airport by 6am. Straight through customs. Mcd's breakfast the 6 hour later in Adelaide. My uncle Bruce picked me up and a crumbed fishnchip lunch. Back at the house we start building the 3 new df95 rigs. 10pm off to bed, 1am kiwi time. A long 22 hour first day.
DAY TWO
still on kiwi time so woke 4am. I had taken all four df56 masts apart to fit everything in suitcase. By 10am my df65 was all back together. I have borrowed Bruce's batteries so I did not have to try and fly with them. We altered Bruce's Df65 A+ and where ready for our 1st Lake Maderson sail at kunchtime. Three of Bruce's mates met us there and we had a two hour session in very shift conditions (more shifty than Waihi ;)
Back to the boys office for a debrief at Mcd's. These friends are all kindly helping run the event over the weekend. Thanks guys. Home for a half hour nanner nap before heading out to a 5pm informal blat around at lights veiw. I got to meet another 10 locals all racing 65's and 95's until 7.30pm before they disappeared off to a 8pm race officer briefing for this weekends event. The fleet numbers have grown to 2 fleets in HMS system on both regattas. Home, stiped boats, dinner and off for a catchup sleep. Bring on day three!
DAY THREE
12 o'clock and back to Lake Maderson for another boat with the team.
