King for a day raced at The Bus Stop today.
On a wonderful warm King's Birthday afternoon we held a pop up 'King for a day' race series.
The breeze was light to moderate from SW and ideal for the nine keen skippers to race in. Pete179 set a simple course, held a quick briefing, and we were racing.
We rattled off 13 races with a couple of tuning breaks in two hours then finished with an RTW while RO Pete collated the results.
A prize giving of Gold Bars by Whittaker's was held and the King for the Day was Lester Smith sailing his trusty No17. Three cheers for the King. I will be sending a short message to King Charles so that he may honour Lester in next year's awards.
A great day out in the sun and fresh air , thanks for coming guys.
