There was no competitive sailing until close to midday due to most of
the marks needing to be returned to their normal layout locationfollowing them having being lifted so some ballast weight could beremoved from them. Ken & Graham did this task during the week and hasmade it easier to adjust the mark locations. A special thanks to Ken Ffor rowing all around the lake this morning to replace them. The 12 yachts that sailed today experienced light variable A rigconditions and hot temperatures. The first morning race was as much
drifting as sailing in very light winds. After lunch the wind picked up
a bit and the R.O was able to set a course to towards the Bus Stop
(N.E.) and not change it for most of the day but sailors had to at times
put up with 180 degree wind shifts. It was good to see a number of
sailors wining a race. Those that sailed had an enjoyable time and made
the R.O duties a pleasure to handle.
