On Friday CLASSIC IOM "FAT BOY" REGATTAAt Wattle Farm, Auckland
And no where not talking about
Fat or Classic Sailors (Well Maybe...?)
Ken and Graham are doing a one day
road trip on Friday
Ken is racing a Denniston II NZL746
in the Fat Boy (wider than 200mm) and the Classic Regatta, No problem at 240mm Wide...
Ken built the original boat. The sails on the boat where measure in 2010
Ken has just given this hull a repaint and she should be ready for a test sail this Club Wednesday before her run on Friday
(the red might turn green Ken?)
Graham has chartered his old boat
Slayer NZL835. Thanks Malcolm.
Graham is sailing in the Classic
(Sail numbers before NZL850)
DM2 is a Kevin Dibley design, Paul Goddard hit the water back with his new DM2 back in 2008. Two DM2's competed in the 2009 Nationals.
This is still a fanatic forgiving IOM design which can foot it in all conditions. This hull was built by Carl Smith, who commissioned this brilliant air brush painting. Antony can still produce these hulls to order.
It will be interesting to see if Ken and Graham can remember how to sail REAL BOATs.
Good Luck Boys..
The rest of you enjoy Lunch 12.15pm Saturday followed by a 1pm to 3.30pm Social Sail
FYI Webmaster on the Road, Friday, Saturday and Sunday so our weekend sailing reports might not be up until Monday night...
