The breeze was up - action stations at The Bus Stop.

Wow, what a breeze from the SW straight down the lake. Ten boats today made an excellent fleet for fun racing. Early action came from Nigel 168 who rattled off a series of wins right out of the blocks. Rob 501 then took over for a couple of races and the things settled down to a series of winners.

I noted a number of skipper struggling with the conditions, sometimes over committing at marks and coming out with a blood nose. There probably should have been more penalties taken.

Setting your boat for comfort downwind is essential as a lot of gains can be made by being in control through downwind gusts. Mast rake and vang tension should give you a clue.

RTW was a thriller for Pete 179. Adrian 136 led all through to the finish which started RTW, but a miscalculation of which mark to take allowed 179 to streak away for a win. Out of the blocks like a rocket let Pete 179 also take the second RTW.

It was nice to see Jeff come for a look and cement his thoughts of owning a DF65.

Another top day on the water, enjoy the photos.
