DF65's at the Bus Stop.

What a wonderful spring day we had today. Warm sun, nice breeze, ten keen skippers with their great little boats ready to race.

Nigel and Garry pointed a damp finger skywards and came up with a course to test everyone. Windward, leeward, shy reach, and broad reach, what more could you want? There was a wee bit of confusion in the first couple of races, but that was put down to skippers not studying the course board.

Garry from Papamoa showed the way through a lot of races with others picking up an odd win. Very close finishes started to show as the wind picked up later in the day.

A worthwhile day for some tuning and refining for the Champs next Monday. Let's make that a day to really show off DF65 racing by having a big turnout. While it is The Tauranga Radio Sailing Club DF65 Champs, it is also a fun day. If you haven't done this sort of event before don't be put off by the name, treat it as another day sailing that is not to be missed. You will have a good time.

On the Dragon Boat,

Pete
