DF65 Starting Infringements.

Some discussion has taken place regarding race start infringements, so this note is to clarify the situation for DF65 racing at The Bus Stop. The aim of this method is to get the race started with minimum disruption to the bulk of the fleet. Fleet size affects how these options play out, so skippers should take the option that is best for the situation they are in taking into account the rest of the fleet. Future starts shall be covered by the following:

If a boat is over the start line before the final start signal it shall immediately prepare for and do one of 3 things, which ever is the most appropriate for the circumstances:

1. Return and dip the line, or

2. Return and round either start buoy, or 

3. Move to the side or back of the fleet and do a 360 degree turn as soon as practicable after the start.
