Confusion at The Bus Stop.
A big turnout today saw 16 boats on the start line. Nigel 168 put a very simple gated course on the board, and we were into it.
The course:
Start between 1 & 2, sail to between 5 & 6, do two laps and finish between 1 & 2. Take all marks from inside out. How simple is that?Â
Confusion reigned at the top mark with the main fleet taking No 5. Boats were going in all directions, and I heard a number of fairly loud suggestions for skippers to read the new supersized course board. A big lesson learned by a few skippers.
A wind change saw a course change with a very loud announcement of "Read The Board". Racing resumed with vigor with multiple winners. Then the wind shifted back causing another change for the rest of the afternoon.
Nice to see John 9 back sailing today. We hear Bob 909 is flat out preparing a new boat after the tragic sinking of 909. Let's hope he'll be up and running by Monday.
Remember we are having a Special Day on Monday Oct 28 (LabourDay) so spend all weekend tuning up your boat and be at The Bus Stop ready to race at 1:00pm.
Three exciting RTW's today won by Nigel 168, Colin 990, and Pat 39, well done guys.
Sorry, I was short on time today, so the video is rough and there are not so many photos.
