W
hat a great turnout today. 16 Names on our covid tracking form today.
Thanks everyone for following our health and safety requirements today.
Hope you all had fun.
Lunchtime we dragged the dinghy out of her shed.
Everything was still in good condition thankfully.
The last breeze must have blown into bus stop bay, It was solid green mat.
A beautiful bright green that matched my bright green hull :)
We set up the course board, the sign in sheet and the hand sanitizer
before dragging 4 marks down the lake to the bus stop.
There were hints of wind between 12 and 1pm but no firm direction.
Come 1pm and the sailors just keep coming.
It was a great sight to see. Everyone must have had cabin fever like me...
117 Thruppy launched his covid built Alternative.
She sailed extremely well in the light breeze and popped a few races.
OO Bruce launched his new covid plastic McNeilly with a newly shaped bulb.
The acceleration of this hull was breathtaking today.
97 Tony launched is rebuilt TS2, Bright Green, Just like the lake.
As the afternoon progressed a light Northerly tried to come in.
The slight breeze moved the algae out of the bay fast and was down by our jetty when we finished just before 4pm.
Home and cut the hull back with some 1500 wet and dry and some water. The hull cleaned up very easy thankfully.
Everyone seemed to enjoy getting back out and how about another social sail next Wednesday at 1pm.
Hope you can join us too.

Pre Friday Sail Invite.
Good afternoon, hope you are fit and well after Levels Three and Four. This Friday we move to 100 People limit in level Two...
So I would like to invite you to join me for a social RC sailing session
this Friday 29th at 1pm at the Tauranga Lakes Bus Stop grass area
Tauranga Lakes, Lakeview Quay, 1pm Friday 29th May 2020 Grass Reserve for a hour or two of sailing..
This will be my first IOM sail at the Lakes since Wednesday 22nd March 2020... ( it is time to stretch my bubble a little more :)
There is enough room on the grass for 2 metre social distancing from the public, and i will keep a record of attendees.
The weather forecast is not perfect, however its a lot better chance of fine weather, than the long weekends current forecast is.
I hope your keen for a drift around this Friday afternoon.
