This afternoon was almost a spring day, warm and dry with a nice SW that swung more West a couple of times.
What a turnout we had today, 14 boats on the start line. Nigel 186 set a nice course and we were into it. There appeared to be two lines of thought on the start line. A group formed up at both ends and I don't remember which proved best!
It was nice to see John 6 over from Rotorua. He told me he was dropped off to play sailing while his wife did some serious shopping. He showed good skill to be out front in a couple of races. Also nice to see Graham 104 out for some sailing and enjoying the competitive fleet. Neville and Gary over from Papamoa made it almost an international fleet!
Mid afternoon we had a course change with an extra windward leeward that made more passing opportunities.
The top mark was very busy so skill and cunning was needed to find your way round without a foul.
A very nice day to be doing what we love - racing DF65's
