The weather is certainly warmer on the Gold Coast than you guys have had in the past 2 days.

24 degrees with the overnight low of 17 degrees.

Yesterday Jenny and I drove to the local Radio Sailing Club at the Emerald Waters Lakes.

An amazing venue with fantastic facilities.

Extremely well run and all the boats were of a high standard ( very new with new sails).

They only had 8 racing yesterday but they average 10 to 16 but a very strong competitive fleet.

I managed to score a sail for 2 races with a BritPop from Brad,

the  top guy in their club.

Unfortunately I didn't do that well but good fun.

He was apparently the Australian Veteran National Champion.

Just a fantastic sailing venue and a friendly bunch- just like our Club of course!

There were 4 different fleets racing at once on the lake,

1OM class, International 10 Rater which was a much bigger faster boat ( I have never seen them before)

DF65 and a Radio controlled model Laser Class.

Heaps of room to race 4 to 5 different race courses.

They have a big fleet of DF95's that race on different days.

Each fleet had their own plastic rotary molded rescue dinghy with a new Yamaha 4 hp outboard.

Every day of the week there is racing in various classes.

Photos attached.

Some of the surrounding houses were 8 to 9 million dollars.

See you in 4 weeks.

Regards,

DS
