Thursday DF65's at Tauriko.
There was a noticeable need for lockdown DF65 sailors to escape from home to the lake. 12 boats on the line.
A well organised group with social distancing, masks, QR Codes all in place and out in the fresh air for a great afternoon's sailing.
It was surprisingly warm with plenty of wind generally from the south west. Some heavy squalls early on saw the rescue boat launched to retrieve some boats from the reeds. As the day moved on the squalls reduced to a more friendly level.
I arrived late and someone whispered that the Papamoa brothers were beating us up. Well done guys for showing the way to race when the breeze is up.
It was great to be back out after the lockdown. Let's hope we can continue to lower the lockdown level and get back to normal.
Remember DF65's five hour race on Monday so get a boat and a mate and a couple of batteries and have a go. If you have nothing on tomorrow come over and see the IOM's doing their five hour race. They race at The Bus Stop for social distancing.
Enjoy the photos.
