DF 65 windy Monday.

Six old salts braved the blustery breeze coming straight down the lake from the west.

It was a lesson on how to keep your boat moving in the choppy water, you could be first to the top mark and stalled doing the rounding and end up 1 lap behind. many a time it was better to gibe than tack to change direction.

It all became a bit hard going at around 3.15 pm we gave up and headed home happy.

Cheers Warren.

A small, but dedicated group of sailors gathered for some heavy weather boat handling learning.

The wind was definitely B Rig, but all boats were on A Rig so it was tricky doing some manoeuvres. In some races tacking at the top mark was impossible as the little boats would not go through the eye of the wind.

Even a sissy jibe wouldn't work so it was a matter of waiting for a lull and then doing a quick tack.

Most sailors managed a win due the the rest of the fleet being anialated.

Two boat finish up on the other side of the lake after being unable to tack.

Both managed to sail out without being rescued.

On the Dragon Boat.

Pete.
